BrowserShield

Browser Security Check

Is my browser safe?

We check your browser version against public security advisories and CVE data. No install required.

Checking your browser security...

How the check works

  1. Detect the browser

The page reads your browser, engine and version from the client. It prefers User-Agent Client Hints, then falls back to User-Agent.

  2. Match public CVE data

The version is compared with NVD CVE ranges, vendor security advisories and CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities.

  3. Show an upgrade hint

You get severity counts, how many major versions you are behind, and a link to update. No software is installed.

FAQ

What does BrowserShield check?
It detects your browser, engine and version, then compares them with public vendor security advisories and CVE records. It estimates whether the version is outdated and which known issues may still apply.
Does this site exploit vulnerabilities?
No. BrowserShield never exploits vulnerabilities and is not an antivirus. It only uses publicly disclosed security data.
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome, Chromium, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Samsung Internet, Huawei Browser, Android System WebView, Firefox and Safari.
How often is the CVE data updated?
Browser versions and vendor advisories are synced about every six hours. CVE data from NVD is synced daily, and CISA KEV entries are applied when available.
Do you collect my IP or User-Agent?
The default setup does not store IP addresses, full User-Agent strings or device fingerprints. Usage stats are aggregated by day only.
